Very little is known about leprosy, although India is one of the countries with an astonishing number of people suffering from leprosy. The information about identifying Leprosy at early onset is not widely known. SERPA took the initiative of sensitizing people about not just signs but also the different therapies available on January 27th, 2021, which is considered as World Leprosy Day across the globe.

CTE is very rarely spoken about as it mostly affects sportsmen. However, the impact of CTE is not just restricted to those who suffer from it but the family members as well. The drastic change of personality and the life of dependent living to most sportsmen are unacceptable. Hence knowledge about what to do when one suffers from CTE was undertaken by SERPA on January 30th, 2021 which is considered to be CTE awareness day.

Although Parkinson’s Disease is often spoken about, very little is known about the management of it. On April 11th SERPA made an informational video regarding Parkinson’s disease as part of the awareness campaign. This time to make the informational video, the board members of SERPA came together to spread awareness.

Multiple sclerosis is painful and makes the person suffering from it feel depressed and isolated. The informational video made by SERPA shed light on work required in assisting people struggling with MS on May 30th,2021 for MS awareness day. Link

SERPA hosted a session held on Facebook live that brought forth the important points concerning special education with reference to the new National Education Policy on 18th August 2021. This was conducted by Dr Indumathi Rao. This was just the session all of us in this field wanted. The session was attended by 71 people. A detailed presentation on NEP, 2020 and its components was followed by a question and answer session.
